Maserati Quattroporte EV premiere postponed

The Maserati Quattroporte sedan has been around since 2013, but the long-anticipated electric version of it won’t be coming to the market for a while longer.

According to the reports of the mass media in Europe, the Italian sports car maker still hasn’t decided on a suitable platform for its flagship saloon. The early development had reportedly been done on the STLA Large chassis by Stellantis, but Maserati eventually realized that it would be better off using a proprietary architecture instead.

Such an architecture already underpins its electric GranTurismo and GranCabrio “Folgore” models. Traditional ICE cars can also be designed on it, not just EVs.
