Rezvani puts a retro spin on the Porsche 911

Rezvani has recently shown interest towards building retro-themed Porsches, and here’s its first project. Called the Retro RR1, it takes a modern Porsche 911 and styles it after the 935-series racecars from the late 1970s. The premiere remains scheduled for August, but you can already leave a pre-order.

The company will accept three donor car types: Carrera S, GT3, and Turbo S. Owners are supposed to specify whether they want a purebred racer or a slightly toned-down street-legal version. For instance, the Carrera-based Retro RR1 packs 558 PS (550 hp / 410 kW) for track use, but 527 PS (520 hp / 388 kW) for daily driving. The GT3 tops it with 573 PS (565 hp / 421 kW) in track version and 542 PS (535 hp / 400 kW) in road version. The Turbo S reigns supreme with up to 760 PS (750 hp / 560 kW) heading for the wheels.

Regardless of your choice, the entire body gets replaced with a custom one made from carbon fiber, and polycarbonate windows get installed all around instead of the glass ones. The cabin gets racing harnesses and roll cages, and higher loads necessitate a complete overhaul of the brake and suspension systems as well.

Rezvani reckons it will only build 50 such cars starting from $149,000 for the conversion only. Ticking all option boxes will add more than $25,000 to the total.
