Porsche launches the Cayenne GTS

Porsche has expanded the Cayenne facelift lineup with a new version called the GTS. It’s already available to pre-order, but the shipments in the EU won’t start until this summer.

The car retains its four-liter eight-cylinder engine, but gets a 40-horsepower boost along with 40 Newton-meters of peak torque. This means it now produces 500 PS (493 hp / 368 kW) and up to 660 Nm (487 lb-ft). Equipped like this, the GTS spec sprints to highway speed in 4.4 seconds and maxes out at 275 km/h (171 mph).

In its standard guise, the car gets a 10mm (0.4-inch) suspension lowering thanks to new air-ride springs, dual-valve shocks and torque vectoring system. It borrows a lot of parts from the Cayenne Turbo GT, including a standalone cooling circuit for the AWD system.

You will be able to tell the new Cayenne GTS from its standard counterpart by the new badging, a light body kit, darker headlights, and special 21-inch wheels. The interior houses new bucket seats wrapped in a fabric called Race-Tex. The Coupe version of the car additionally gets an adaptive rear spoiler and a panoramic glass roof. Porsche offers a sports exhaust system and a weight reduction package as paid options.
