Jetour Shanhai T2 bows in China

Chery-owned car brand Jetour has unveiled its next SUV, the Shanhai T2 PHEV, ahead of the Auto China show. The model is basically identical to the normal T2 except for the drivetrain and will soon go on sale in China in three trim variants priced from 179,900 Yuan.

The exterior looks exactly the same as before until you notice the charging port. The dimensions are also identical at 4,785 x 2,006 x 1,875 mm (LWH) with 2,800 mm between the axles. Hybrid all-wheel-drive is included in the base specification.

The car uses a 1.5-liter engine with 156 PS (154 hp / 115 kW) and 220 Nm (162 lb-ft) of torque along with two electric motors to drive the wheels through a three-speed DHT transmission. The peak output of the system amounts to 381 PS (376 hp / 280 kW) and 610 Nm (450 lb-ft).

The two low-end trims ship come bundled with a smaller 26.7-kWh battery pack rated for 129 km (80 miles) of CLTC range. The flagship spec takes advantage of a 43.24-kWh battery that’s good for 208 km (129 miles) of all-electric driver – at least, that’s the official rating. With a full tank, this version of the car covers 1,300 km (808 miles) in one go. It starts from 209,900 Yuan.

On the whole, the interior is also identical to that of the non-electrified Jetour Shanhai T2. There’s a 10.25-inch digital gauge cluster and a 15.6-inch infotainment screen. Options include seats with power adjustments, setting memory, and ventilation, a wireless phone charger, atmospheric ambient lighting, panoramic glass roof and all kinds of safety systems notably including a blind spot monitor.
