Genesis unveils the wild G80 Magma saloon EV

The premium carmaker has brought a Magma-series electric car to Auto China. While still technically considered a concept, it is officially slated for production at a later date (still unannounced).

The sporty ride introduces a new royal blue shade to the manufacturer’s lineup. The company points out that it has nothing to do with everyone’s obsession with making EVs blue. Instead, it is supposed to resemble the superhot flame that appears blue to the observer due to its extreme temperature.

Flared fenders and redesigned bumpers sum up for a rather aggressive exterior aesthetic. It is supported at the rear end by a diffuser and a trunk spoiler. The car rides on 21-inch wheels the likes of which Genesis had used for its concepts before, but it’s the first time we are seeing these wheels finished to match the body.

Aside from this, the company briefly mentions low-slung racing-grade suspension, but doesn’t provide any further details. It is unclear whether the powertrain is any different from stock, either. The normal G80 Electrified ships with two motors joining efforts for 370 PS (365 hp / 272 kW) and 700 Nm (516 lb-ft) of torque.
