Adamastor Furia completes its track testing routine

Around a year ago, Portugal-based industrial company Adamastor announced plans to design the country’s first-ever national supercar, the Furia (see video). In a recent communication, it has confirmed that the coupe wrapped up its pre-production tests on a track in Portimão.

Extensive use of carbon fiber in the bodywork and frame enables the Furia to weigh as little as 1,100 kilograms (2,425 pounds). It gets another metric ton (2,200 pounds) in the form of downforce from its carbon aero kit. Power for the wheels is provided by a 3.5-liter Ford V6 turbocharged to deliver 650 PS (641 hp / 478 kW). It may not seem like much, but it’s enough to launch the lightweight coupe from zero to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 3.5 seconds.

The company plans to make 60 examples of the Furia, offering them from a cool €1.6 million. There’s no specific launch date yet. Once out and about, the supercar will compete with comparable models from Aston Martin, Koenigsegg and Pagani – or so Adamastor claims, at least.
