Lunaz rolls out its first non-electrified luxury restomod

UK-based car restoration expert Lunaz has unveiled a comprehensively restored and modernized Aston Martin DB6 that ended up with a voluminous I6 engine instead of the company’s signature all-electric powertrain.

The original coupe came out in the mid-1960s powered by a 4.0-liter inline-six engine rated at 286 PS (282 hp / 210 kW). The company decided to keep the six-cylinder formula intact, but increased the displacement volume all the way to five liters, getting 345 PS (340 hp / 254 kW) at the crank. To ensure a modern driving feel, the suspension, the brakes and the steering were all overhauled.

The exterior wound up with a fresh paint coat in pale green metallic. The interior received a luxury makeover with leather, Alcantara and cashmere used throughout. Pearlescent accents rounded off the project.

We don’t know how much the restorer’s first gas-powered restomod cost its owner, but its electric counterpart from several years ago went for nearly $1,000,000, according to reports.
