Isetta-inspired Microlino 2.0 hits the Munich show with specs and pricing

The Microlino 2.0, an electric supermini inspired by the iconic BMW Isetta, has debuted at the IAA Mobility show with more power and range than initially promised.

The electric motor now produces around 26 horsepower (19 kW) instead of the originally promised 15-16 hp (11-12 kW). It remains to be seen how well the car accelerates and how fast it can go, though. The concept hit its speed ceiling at just 90 km/h (56 mph). It also had push-rod suspension at the front end and dependent suspension in the back, while the production car rides on MacPherson struts.

Range-wise, you can save money and go for a 6-kWh battery, which will give you up to 95 km (59 miles) of driving before charging becomes necessary. A mid-priced 10.5-kWh battery goes nearly twice as far with 175 km (108.7 miles), and the top specification comes with 14 kWh of juice and 230 km (143 miles) of range. The prototype was said to max out at 200 km (124 mph).

There are three trims to choose from, dubbed Urban, Dolce, and Competizione. The first one comes with only two paint options and no extras at all, while the next one unlocks an optional panoramic roof along with new trim schemes. The top trim introduces premium matte finishes and chrome details.

Prices start as low as €12,500.
