Carwow has found three new contenders for its latest drag race showdown: a Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S went up against a BMW M5 Competition and a Porsche Panamera Turbo S. Do you think the only non-electrified car in the bunch has what it takes to win?
The M5 CS uses a 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 to propel itself forward. With 625 PS (616 hp / 460 kW) and 750 Nm (553 lb-ft) of torque at its disposal, it needs 2.6 seconds for its sprint from zero to 97 km/h (60 mph) and maxes out as high up as 306 km/h (190 mph). The quarter-mile time is no less impressive at 10.6 seconds. Not bad at all!
In turn, the Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S packs 843 PS (831 hp / 620 kW) and 1,400 Nm (1,044 lb-ft) of torque. It sprints to the same acceleration in 2.84 seconds.
Rounding off the trio is a Porsche Panamera Turbo S Hybrid with 700 PS (690 hp / 515 kW) and 870 Nm (642 lb-ft) of torque under its command. The sprint time is 2.7 seconds and the quarter-mile time is slower than that of the BMW M5 CS, despite the electric add-on.
