The Chiron era is coming to an end, but Bugatti has just confirmed working on a replacement. The new hypercar will be formally introduced in 2024 and is expected to reach production in 2026.
The press release also states that the coming of the new Bugatti flagship will coincide with the retirement of Achim Anscheidt, the company’s irreplaceable Design Director since 2004. That said, the retirement won’t be complete, as Anscheidt intends to remain close to the company as Mate Rimac’s advisor.
The successor to the Chiron family has apparently been in development for multiple years now and will be partly, but not completely, electrified. It will utilize a hybrid drivetrain with an unspecified engine in the middle. What fate awaits the company’s signature W16 remains a mystery.
