The Buick Envista had been a China-only crossover SUV since its debut last summer, but now the company has introduced it in North America as well. There will be no hybridization – just one low-end petrol engine.
The vehicle looks similar to its Chinese counterpart with slim head- and taillights, 18-inch wheels in the Sport Touring trim and 19-inch ones in higher trim levels.
Inside, the digital dashboard and the infotainment display continue to be merged into one large display. The driver gets at least six electronic assists in addition to voice command support.
Power for the U.S.-spec Envista comes from a 1.2-liter turbo engine rated at 136 PS (134 hp / 100 kW) and 200 Nm (148 lb-ft) of torque. The transmission is six-speed automatic with no other options.
Live sales will start this summer from an MSRP of $23,495.
