Italian luxury brand Bulgari has previewed a wristwatch called Aluminium Gran Turismo that it designed for the 10th birthday of the Gran Turismo video game series. It has also presented a virtual supercar that will be added to the game next year.
The wristwatch is a modification of Bulgari’s own Aluminium model released a quarter of a century ago. It is a sports chronometer featuring a casing made from aluminum, titanium and other modern materials. The GT-inspired series will comprise 500 units with a yellow face and black markings and 1,200 units with an inverted face.
For its own part, the Aluminium Gran Turismo Concept has matching dashboard gauges and is said to be inspired by the Italian sports car classics. The body outlines evoke associations with the tapering racecars of the 1970s, the wheel fenders are impressively wide, and the roof is not included by design.
Judging by the images and videos released thus far, the interior is minimalistic and also makes use of state-of-the-art trimming materials despite the overall retro look. Fabio Filippini, ex-Pininfarina Design Director, took part in the project.
