Yangwang U8 presents cabin

BYD Group has posted the first interior photos of the latest Yangwang-branded SUV coming to the market. The facelifted U8 comes with 200 mm (7.8 inches) of added wheelbase, so it has more legroom in the second row. It will also be available in a new six-seater version called “L” when it goes on sale in late 2025.

The new U8 features a particularly deluxe pair of seats in the second row, complete with power adjustments, ventilation, massage and recliner functions. Each passenger gets their own touchscreen display to access these settings. Folding tables are also included as standard, and the same goes for a ceiling-mounted display.

As you can guess from the name, the new Yangwang U8 six-seater comes with three rows of two individual seats – no benches. Customers can choose from an expanded selection of exterior finishes and even pay a hefty premium for 24-carat gold plating if they feel like it.

Regardless of your trim choices, the SUV always ships with a quad-motor range-extender drivetrain rated at 1,197 PS (1,181 hp / 880 kW). A petrol engine on board generates power for the motors, but all propulsion is handled by electric motors installed one per wheel.
