Cadillac’s flagship EV set to cost $200k

Cadillac has shared new teasers ahead of the premiere of its new flagship car, the all-electric Celestiq sedan. Apparently, the model will be produced strictly against custom orders and start from $200,000 in the USA. The first concept will debut later this year, but production will not begin until 2023.

The first teaser focuses on a wheel and a forged front fender lip with an illuminated logo built into it. Note that you can roughly assess the hood length based on this image.

The second pic shows slim taillight patterns executed in a familiar Cadillac fashion. The third one is a close-up of a molding.

When it comes to the market, the Cadillac Celestiq may pack an enormous infotainment display spanning the entire dashboard length, with three extra displays for the rear bench – at least, that’s what the first concept looked like. The company also promises to make use of special trim materials.

From the technical point of view, the Celestiq will be based on the GM Ultium architecture and thus be similar to the Lyriq SUV. Its driving range is estimated at 650 km (400 miles), and the wiring on board will support currents up to 350 kW. Rear-wheel steering will also be available.

Carscoops believes the luxury pricing aims at highlighting the exclusive status of the vehicle, which will be partly assembled by hand.
