The Qiyuan C798 (name subject to change) is a full-size crossover that looks like it could be Changan’s next flagship in the Qiyuan range, AutoHome.cn reports. The full reveal is still pending, but the company expects to start sales in mid-2025.
Judging by the images posted thus far, the SUV looks rather laconic and overall in line with Changan’s current design language. It sports original headlights with large lamps framing a faux grille and slim DRL stripes with added C-sections. The lighting setup at the rear looks just as modern with a solid LED line running from one taillight to the other.
The body is rather bulky with a window line running parallel to the roof. The door handles are flush with the panels, the front wheel arches have gill-like vents, and there seems to be a LiDAR on the roof.
When it ships, the Qiyuan C798 is expected to be available with two main powertrain types to choose from – all-electric and range-extender hybrid. Being around 5 meters (16.4 feet) long, it will likely be a seven-seater.
