Mysterious GM cars show up online without context

An official social media account of General Motors Design has posted these images allegedly made at a private gallery called Tomorrow’s Vision Today. They seem to be showing the still-unannounced new generations of the Chevrolet Camaro and Corvette.

While most of the gallery shows real, existing GM vehicles, two look like obvious concepts. One seems to be a mid-engined Corvette partly inspired by the CX and California Corvette concepts the company revealed before.

The other one has Camaro proportions and shape, and is depicted from behind, turned halfway towards the camera. It has low suspension, a long hood, pronounced fenders and taillights separated with a blacked-out trim. Road & Track claims it is one of the possible Camaro designs being considered by the company right now.

As for the Corvette lookalike, it comes closest to the C10 Concept penned by GM’s Pasadena Advanced Design studio from California. As the name suggests, it toys with an idea of a hypercar-like tenth generation of the Corvette, not the ninth that’s supposed to be next.

The last Camaro (see video) rolled off the assembly line nearly two years ago. Rumors claim that the company plans to bring it back as a 1,000-hp (1,014-PS / 747-kW) electric SUV competing in the same niche as the Ford Mustang Mach-E. This remains unconfirmed, though, and with no official comment from the manufacturer, we’d rather refrain from speculation.
