$98k buys you a wild C3 Corvette stretch limo

A grotesquely stretched version of the 1969 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray has cropped up on sale in California for an asking price of $98,000. That’s a whole lot to pay for a 57-year-old car with an opaque background, but for what it’s worth, it looks professionally made.

The listing is light on details. Most of the time, projects like this involve cutting the body and the chassis in half, inserting an extender section in the middle and reinforcing the seams with steel beams to eliminate any unwanted wobbling or sagging. For all we know, this was the approach here as well.

What we know is that the C3 Corvette limo features its removable roof sections (Targa), five-spoke wheels reminiscent of American Racing, and an fuel-injected V8 sourced from a newer Chevrolet. We were unable to find any mention of the specific engine model, output, or mileage.

Very little is shown of the interior. The listing claims there’s an early-era digital dashboard, three color displays for the passengers, and four power windows.

Surprisingly, this wouldn’t be the first time someone tried to fashion a stretch limo out of a C3 ‘Vette. Check out the video for another, more amateurish-looking build.
