Hot Wheels, a toy carmaker and part of Mattel, has unveiled five new cars from Fast & Furious movie franchise. The set is dedicated exclusively to U.S.-made cars featured in one or more F&F instalments. Pricing revolves around $40 for one.
The first movie is represented by a red Ford F‑150 SVT Lightning pickup that Paul Walker drove in some scenes. The other cars are from later films and are all either black or silver. This includes the Buick Regal GNX from the gas truck theft scene, the Chevrolet Nova SS of Leticia ‘Letty’ Ortiz (played by Michel Rodriguez), Dominic Toretto’s Dodge Charger, and a Pontiac Firebird T/A fans will instantly recognize thanks to its front clip. All models are built to the scale of 1:64.
Autoevolution points out that the first Hot Wheels car collection inspired buy the Fast & Furious saga came out nine years ago. It included such icons as the Dodge Charger R/T and the Toyota Supra from the first movie, as well as the Nissan Skyline GT‑R from the second one. Hot Wheels has been expanding the lineup ever since, and the F&F fan community believes the cars hold a certain collector’s value.
