Look at zero-mileage Fords that had sat idle since the ‘80s

An abandoned Ford dealership has been discovered and filmed on video by YouTuber Auto Retro in the city of Ingolstadt, Germany. The footage shows cars that were assembled back in the 1980s, but never sold.

The showroom has an Orion sedan, two differently colored Sierra five-door hatchbacks and a wagon, a Fiesta S hatchback and an Escort. All vehicles are in brand-new condition, but legalizing them for road use in Germany will be difficult, if not downright impossible, due to the stricter eco standards of today.

The description says it was once a fairly major dealership with around 300 cars in storage. It shut down in the late 1980s, and the owner passed away some time later. His widow kept the building and a few select cars as a memory of her husband, but left the rest just standing there. With her recent move to an elderly care center, the showroom was proclaimed abandoned and opened for an inspection.

According to the host of the video, the woman used to allow guests inside the showroom until one of them stole a bunch car parts (note the Fiesta missing its fog lights, for one). After that incident, she had kept it shut throughout all these years.

The ultimate fate of the showroom and the mint-condition Fords contained therein remains to be decided.
