Custom Autos by Tim revives Ford Excursion mega-SUV on Super Duty chassis

The gigantic Ford Excursion SUV went out of production in 2005, leaving many of us wanting for a truly big and spacious utility vehicle like that. If you are one of those missing the days of BIG off-roaders, listen to what Custom Autos by Tim has to offer.

For over two years, the tuner has been successfully converting Ford Super Duty pickups into huge four- and six-door SUVs styled similarly to the Ford Excursion. It produced 38 vehicles in 2017, followed by another 34 in 2018.

You may pay extra to have the tuner find a suitable truck for you, but a more cost-efficient option would be to source your own car. The conversion process lasts anywhere between six and fourteen weeks and costs U.S. $41,000 for the four-seat version or $49,000 for the six-seat version. You may also opt for an especially massive Dually variant ($59,000).

As far as the customization options, you get to choose what kind of seats you want and where, how high you would like your SUV to ride (lift kits available for up to 15 cm / 6 inches of added height), and what tech you want in the cabin. As far as we are informed, the latter category spans the range from climate control to various electronic driver aids.
