Roush unleashes a 715-PS Ford F-150 on the tarmac

Throughout its many decades of topping U.S. sales charts, the Ford F-150 has been marketed as a reliable workhorse for the suburbs and driving over terrain. For many decades, people bought it for city driving simply because they liked it. It is this target audience that Roush targets with its later tuning package: the Nitemare.

Installed on the 5.0-liter V8 version of the pickup, it bumps up its output to 715 PS (705 hp / 526 kW) and 860 Nm (634 lb-ft) of torque. This is accomplished, among other things, by upgrading the turbos and replacing the entire exhaust system. To keep the power in check, every truck also gets assorted suspension upgrades, improved brakes and 22-inch wheels shod in road rubber. The ground clearance loses roughly 75 mm (3 inches) at the front end and 130 mm (5.1 inches) at the rear end.

The visual tweaks aren’t that drastic. There’s a new vented hood, a redesigned radiator grille bearing a Roush logo, and a new interior trim with carbon-fiber details and red accents.

You can already order the package from Roush starting from $9,000 for the engine kit and $23,000 for the rest of the upgrades.
