Sports cars come in all flavors these days, and this recent video by Sam CarLegion should give you an idea about their strengths and weaknesses in straight-line racing. A Ford Mustang GT500 goes up against a Nissan GT-R and a Mercedes-AMG GT S.
The GT500 conceals a 5.2-liter V8 under the hood boosted to 770 PS (760 hp / 566 kW) and 847 Nm (625 lb-ft) of torque. The entire momentum goes to the rear axle through a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.
The AMG GT S utilizes a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 capable of 522 PS (515 hp / 384 kW) and 669 Nm (493 lb-ft) of torque. The drivetrain configuration is the same as above, however, the German sports car weighs in at just 1,645 kilos (3,627 pounds). The Mustang is significantly heavier at 1,891 kg (4,169 pounds).
The Nissan GT-R strikes the golden middle between the two, using a 3.8-liter twin-turbo V6 to drive all four wheels with 572 PS (564 hp / 421 kW) and 633 Nm (467 lb-ft). It tips the scales at 1,774 kg (3,911 pounds).
