The Ford Mustang is a very capable muscle car as is, but if you need supercar-rivaling amounts of performance, there’s always the Shelby GT500. Of course, Hennessey Performance believes the latter could still use more power, otherwise it wouldn’t have produced a version of it boosted beyond 1,200 hp.
The latest version of the upgrade kit includes a giant 3.8-liter supercharger, a high-flow air intake system, fuel system improvements and a calibrated version of the seven-speed DCT. Once everything is set up, the rear wheels get hit with no less than 1,221 PS (1,204 hp / 898 kW) and 1,223 Nm (902 lb-ft) of torque. The sprint times haven’t been officially measured yet.
Owning a car like this will set you back at least $79,420 for the donor GT500 plus $59,950 for the Hennessey upgrade. Only 66 kits will be released. Watch the video for an older version of the same tuning and browse through the gallery here for the new version.
