Ford Taurus goes through a mid-gen refresh in China

Ford has launched an update of the Taurus, a sedan/saloon based on the elongated Mondeo platform and sold in China. The 2020 facelift brings along visual tweaks and cabin improvements, but drops an engine from the lineup.

On the outside, the newcomer boasts new LED-based headlights and revised bumpers at both ends. Inside, there is a Sync+ infotainment system with a Tesla-style 12.8-inch vertical display.

The 2020 Ford Taurus is no longer available with the old 1.5-liter, turbocharged four-cylinder engine rated at 181 hp (135 kW). It now ships with a two-liter unit capable of 245 hp (183 kW), accelerating from zero to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 8.5 seconds.

Starting at the equivalent of U.S. $32,000, the Taurus remains Ford’s most expensive sedan on offer.
