The first Qijing takes shape as a sporty-looking wagon

Qijing, a car manufacturer founded between GAC Group and Huawei, has posted the first official photos of its upcoming production car. It looks like a family hauler with a sporty vibe.

Despite the colorful camo wrap, you can still discern details like frameless doors, sculpted sides, stacked headlights and dynamic body outlines. There’s also a LiDAR on the roof, because the newcomer is supposed to be capable of SAE Level 3 self-driving.

The interior stays a mystery at this point. As for the powertrains, we fully expect the first Qijing to go on sale in China’s two favorite flavors – hybrid and all-electric. Taking into account the rising popularity of serial hybrids, a.k.a. range extenders, we’d imagine it getting an e-motor or two and a gas engine to generate more power.

The premiere is scheduled for the Auto China show opening on April 24, 2026. The media are saying that it will mostly be competing against the all-electric Zeekr 007GT in China, so the pricing will likely fall within the range of 202,900–232,900 Yuan (U.S. $29,200 – $33,500).
