GAC has posted some new photos of its fifth-generation GS4 crossover due for debut in several days.
The images confirm that the mid-size SUV takes after the Chinese automaker’s Aion i60 model. Among other things, they share the platform, the lighting all around and the mirrors. The GS4 stands out thanks to a redesigned front bumper and a new radiator grille, but that’s about it.
The exterior dimensions are 4,680 x 1,860 x 1,675 millimeters with 2,770 millimeters between the axles. The interior remains to be formally revealed, but it seemingly retains the original’s large infotainment display in the middle.
According to the certification data from the local Ministry of Industry database, the new GAC GS4 will be powered by a 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine rated at 177 PS (175 hp / 130 kW). The transmission will most likely be of a seven-speed dual-clutch type. More options may be announced at launch; the Aion i60 can be obtained in AWD, hybrid and all-electric forms, so we expect some of these to trickle down to the new GS4.
