Honda unveils the Civic Si

Honda has introduced a new member of the Civic family. Called the Si, it will reach the showrooms before the year ends. Here’s what you should know about it.

The car has 5 horsepower less than its predecessor at 200 hp (203 PS / 149 kW), but its peak torque of 260 Nm (192 lb-ft) is now available starting as low as 1,800 RPM. This results in much faster acceleration from standing still, which is considered essential. It also benefits from a dual-pipe exhaust system that is said to be 27% more effective than the old design.

On the outside, you can distinguish the Civic Si by its darkened spoiler, side mirror caps, moldings, and 18-inch wheels. It is also the only Civic available in Blazing Orange Pearl. Interior highlights include bucket seats, aluminum pedals, and red trim accents. The transmission is manual with no other options, and the gearbox stems from the Civic Type R.
