2026 Hyundai Staria EV poses as a camper

Hyundai has attended the CMT Auto Salon in Stuttgart, Germany with a camper conversion of the all-electric Staria van it announced just a few weeks before. The premium vehicle is still considered a concept, but the company says it may mass-produce it for Europe if the demand is there.

On the outside, the Staria Camper looks virtually indistinguishable from its petrol counterpart. You can tell it’s an RV thanks to a roof tent overlaid with 520W of solar panels. The automaker points out that these panels can generate electricity for the main powertrain or the appliances on board – you choose. These appliances notably include a 36-liter fridge, an air conditioner and a warm shower.

Dining is supposed to take place outdoors using the provided table, picnic chairs and power-assisted awning. The roof tent provides enough space for two adults and can also be folded down or raised at a push of a button – no hassle. Another intriguing feature comes in the shape of glass windows owners can either tint or dim electronically when needed.

A single front-axle motor supplies the Staria EV with 218 PS (215 hp / 160 kW). An 84-kWh battery pack delivers roughly 402 km (250 miles) of WLTP range. Charging from 10 to 80 percent only takes 20 minutes or so, the company claims.
