World’s fastest Christmas tree hits 291 km/h on a tuned Jeep Trackhawk

Hennessey Performance has posted a fun Christmas video showing their latest modded Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk speeding home at 180 mph (291 km/h) with a Christmas tree on the roof.

This is not the first time Hennessey tries out expedited delivery of firs. Two years ago, the team put one on a beefed-up Dodge Challenger Hellcat and made it go 174 mph (280 km/h). This time around, they felt like pulling off an even crazier stunt, so they picked a heavy SUV (2.4 metric tons, or around 5,300 pounds curb weight) for it.

In its stock form, the 6.2 Hellcat V8 produces 717 PS (707 hp, or 527 kilowatts) at the crank. Hennessey boosts that to over 1,000 ‘horses’ (745 kW). Imagine how fast that Jeep would have been without a tree tied to its roof rack!

We can’t help but wonder whether Hennessey will choose its upcoming Venom F5 hypercar for the same video next year. The F5 is slated to become the world’s absolute fastest production car, after all.
