Zacoe redefines modern BMW M2 with a styling upgrade

Around a year ago, Eccentrica Cars told us it wanted to build a better-handling and more manageable version of the iconic Lamborghini Diablo (see video). We didn’t get much aside from 3D renderings back then, but the first car has apparently been finished and is heading to The Quail this weekend.
The project is laconically named “Eccentrica V12”. It uses the original Diablo chassis as the starting point and stays true to its exterior design. The 19-inch wheels in the arches look modern, but the pop-up headlights are very faithfully recreated. The fenders are flared, the side sills are longer, and while the power is still supplied by a 5.7-liter Lamborghini V12, it takes advantage of numerous upgrades.
These include new camshafts, a throttle body with electronic control, a new flywheel, and other modern internals. Thanks to these, the car sends 558 PS (550 hp / 410 kW) and 600 Nm (443 lb-ft) of torque to the wheels in what the tuner calls a “smoother and more progressive” manner.
The suspension is slung rather low, but an automatic lift at the front axle ensures that those speed bumps get conquered. Brembo brakes are installed at all four corners, and the steering benefits from an up-to-date power mechanism. Last but not least, the interior is new as befits any restomod of this scale.
Production plans exist for 19 such cars, with the first example set to ship next summer.
