RM Sotheby’s is selling a unique McLaren Elva speedster with a rainbow livery and 150 km (93 miles) on the odometer. The car is number 122 in a production series of 149 and is poised to fetch around $2,400,000.
Aside from an all-carbon body and frame, the Elva lacks a windshield and a roof, redirecting the airflow around the cabin pod thanks to special aerodynamic arrangements at the front end.
A four-liter V8 drives the wheels with 815 PS (804 hp / 600 kW), sending the car from zero to 100 km/h (62 mph) in less than three seconds. The top speed lies north of 300 km/h (186 mph).
The example on sale has been ordered with $100,000 in options, and the seller says around 40% of the sum went into the unique paint coat called Pacific Colour Stream.
