Espied, Yet Again: New Mercedes-Benz S-Class leaks before premiere

The W223 generation of the S-Class should be officially introduced soon, but someone has managed to snap a picture of the non-disguised production car and spoil the surprise.

Not that the surprises were that big or numerous. The headlights are a brand-new design, the DRLs have been reshaped, and the bumpers now sport chrome bezels previously reserved for AMG versions.

The brake lights now extend as far as the trunk lid, pretty much in the same vein as those of the A-Class, CLA, CLS, and the recently revealed E-Class facelift. The S-Class will also introduce the German luxury marque to slide-out door handles.

In its flagship spec, the sedan is expected to get an updated self-drive system, enhanced 4Matic AWD, and a giant multimedia display.

The grapevine has it that the new generation should premiere later this year. The manufacturer has not commented so far, but based on the photos, everything should be almost ready for production.

The new S-Class will be followed by its AMG variants, the Mercedes-Maybach luxury version, and the all-electric EQS.
