Mansory’s Mercedes G-Class ‘Gronos’ 1of1 is more like 1of8

Mansory has produced a drastically redesigned Mercedes G-Class AMG that it fashioned ‘GRONOS Coupé EVO C’. The bulky off-roader has 900 metric horses under the hood, giant wheels and suicide doors among other peculiar features.

Making this particular SUV a ‘coupe’ is the fact that there are no more rear doors, while the front doors are now larger and rear-hinged. The whole exterior shines with a chameleon shade of green, changing hue depending on the lighting and the view angle. There are carbon-fiber bits all around and air vents whose practical purpose remains unknown. Huge 24-inch aftermarket rims fill out the arches.

The interior houses a quarter of massive captain’s seats wrapped in white leather. Getting into the back row necessitates folding down the respective front seat, but Mansory assures us it causes ‘no serious discomfort.’

Things are not the same in the engine bay, either, where most of the internals are new and the output amounts to 900 PS (888 hp / 662 kW) and 1,200 Nm (885 lb-ft) of torque. The standard sprint succeeds in 3.3 seconds, the tuner claims.

Funnily enough, there will be at least eight Gronos units made, each marked with a ‘1of1’. Mansory reasons that, since the cars are being further customized to match their owners’ individual needs and preferences, they may as well deserve being called that.
