Nio’s upcoming ES9 crossover, believed to be the biggest all-electric SUV to ever grace the roads of China, is slated to go on preorder in several days. In the meantime, we were able to obtain some images and a video, as well as a few technical details.
The exterior of the giant SUV looks rather clean and minimalistic with a concave front trim for the grille, separate headlights and DRLs, and a pronounced roof spoiler in the back. The dimensions amount to 5,365 * 2,029 * 1,870 mm (209.6 * 79.3 * 73 inches) with a wheelbase of 3,250 mm (127 inches).
The interior houses six premium seats wrapped in nice-looking combo upholstery, a multichannel audio system, a two-part panoramic roof and a some big displays on the dash – nothing unusual for an electric crossover made in China. Feature-wise, Nio promises us rear-wheel steering and adaptive suspension.
It’s still unknown what kind of powertrain the ES9 has. Unofficial sources suggest two electric motors rated at 707 PS (697 hp / 520 kW) together and up to 620 km (385 miles) of range per the CLTC cycle.
