The jury of Women’s Worldwide Car of the Year (WWCOTY-2026) has decided on the grand winner. Nissan’s all-electric Leaf crossover claimed the prize for being practical, economical and feature-packed.
Commenting on the decision, the jury praised the spacious interior of the SUV, its solid handling and good electric range. According to Marta Garcia, the CEO of WWCOTY, Nissan deserves recognition for its “mature and well-conceived approach to electrification.”
All the intermediate category winners were announced earlier. In case you missed it, Skoda Elroq claimed the prize in the Compact SUV category, Toyota 4Runner was recognized as the Best Off-Roader, and the all-electric Ioniq 9 won in the Full-Size SUV category. Notably, women singled out the Mercedes-Benz CLA as their all-around best light passenger car this past year, while the part-electric Lamborghini Temerario got recognized as the best sports car (although we are tempted to call it a high-end supercar).
