The current generation of the Nissan Rogue a.k.a. X-Trail debuted in United States in the fall of 2023 and received a facelift in Europe and Japan last year. It’s now coming to Europe, too.
Exterior changes are minimal. The radiator grille is noticeably larger than the other versions and features a complex cascading pattern with built-in DRLs, but that’s about the only thing that catches the eye. The stacked headlights, black “rugged” body kit and large air intake in the lower bumper are more or less the same. The standard wheels are 19 inches large.
Customers in Europe can choose between five and seven seats in their 2026 X-Trail. A modern infotainment system with Google Services and a 12.3-inch display is included in the base spec, as is a wireless charging pad. There are some new trim options to choose from, a three-zone climate control system and heated driver’s seat. Surround-view cameras, “transparent hood”, a 10-speaker Bose audio system and heated rear seats are listed under options.
Those more adventurously-minded may opt for a special edition called N-Trek. It boasts vivid exterior color accents, a distinct radiator grille, a power-assisted sunroof and water-repellent seats, along with some other nice tweaks for frequent trips into the wild.
Powertrain-wise, everything stays the same as always. In the EU, the X-Trail continues to be available strictly as a range-extender hybrid. It uses a 1.5-liter, three-cylinder engine to generate electricity with 144 PS (142 hp / 106 kW) and 250 Nm (186 lb-ft) of torque.
All actual propulsion is handled by either one or two electric motors. The FWD variant has 204 PS (201 hp / 150 kW) and 330 Nm (243 lb-ft) of torque at its disposal. The AWD variant has stronger individual motors, but the total output remains capped at 213 PS (210 hp / 157 kW). Sprinting from zero to 100 km/h (62 mph) takes 9 seconds with one motor and 8 with two.
All prices are pending. The pre-facelift Nissan X-Trail starts around €43,000 and climbs to €58,000 with all option boxes ticked.
