Nissan Z Nismo facelift brings along manual transmission, racing brakes

In its next model year, the Nissan Z is looking like a much more attractive car thanks to extensive visual and technical upgrades, especially of the Nismo version. The showrooms will get it in the summer, so let’s take a look.

When it debuted in 2023, the Z Nismo was available exclusively with a nine-speed automatic transmission. This changes now with the introduction of a six-speed manual transmission option. To make it truly driver-focused, it ships with a tuned 420-PS (414-hp / 309-kW) V6 under the hood and a sharper throttle response. It also benefits from improved active noise cancelling in the cabin and tweaked front suspension, as well as lightweight brake rotors sourced from the Nissan GT-R. The company promises confident handling on the track and a reduction in unsprung weight.

Interior novelty boils down to a new wireless phone charging pad now supporting higher charging currents. An arguably more interesting modification can be found in the gas tank department. Nissan claims that it eliminated the fuel starvation issue plaguing the original Z. When the fuel volume in the tank was low, that car would occasionally lose its fuel intake in sharp corners. This has reportedly been fixed now.

No pricing information has been released yet.
