Pagani unveils the Huayra R Evo

The Pagani Huayra supercar has been around for 13 years now, while its high-end R spec has been on sale for three years. It has now been given a track-only version called the Evo.

The standard Huayra R uses a 6.0-liter naturally aspirated V12 to drive the wheels with 850 PS (838 hp / 625 kW) and 750 Nm (553 lb-ft) of torque. The Evo spec bumps up the output to 900 PS (888 hp / 662 kW) and 770 Nm (568 lb-ft) of torque. A six-speed sequential transmission drives the wheels, letting the car hit a top acceleration of 351 km/h (218 mph).

A new body kit makes the Evo roughly 29 cm (11.3 inches) longer – there is an added splitter at the front and a new rear-wing/stabilizer combo at the rear. The company claims a 45% improvement in downforce that goes up to 50% with the hardtop removed. Without liquids, the car weighs as little as 1,060 kilograms (2,337 lbs).

As a pure racecar, the Huayra R Evo cannot be driven legally on public roads. Its production volume and pricing remain to be announced. The original started from €2.6 million before options, and the new version looks like it could cost even more than that. Still, it is likely that most of the production batch if not all has already been sold.
