The automotive corporation has submitted an application for the trademark “Cuda” in the United States. The badge originally adorned the most powerful Plymouth Barracuda versions from 1964–1974.
There is no direct confirmation yet that the nameplate is coming back. For all we know, the company may want to reserve the Cuda name for other purposes – or without a specific purpose in mind. With the Plymouth brand no longer around, the Dodge Challenger retired and the Hemi V8 following the same course, it seems extremely unlikely that we may see anything like the original Barracuda released anytime soon.
