The hardcore Porsche 718 Spyder RS debuts in Europe this week boasting the same upgrades as the 718 Cayman GT4 RS before it. It delivers 500 PS (493 hp / 368 kW) and 450 Nm (332 lb-ft) of torque and starts from €151,215.
The car utilizes the same four-liter six-cylinder engine as the 911 GT3. This enables it to make 80 horsepower (60 kilowatts) and 30 Newton-meters (22 pound-feet) more than the stock 718 Spyder. A seven-speed PDK transmission drives the wheels. The curb weight stays modest at 1,410 kilos (3,109 pounds). With the new engine, the model zaps 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 3.4 seconds and reaches a top speed of 308 km/h (191.4 mph).
On the outside, the RS spec wears a revised aero kit including new air intake shrouds, more elaborate bumpers and a large spoiler. Sport springs drop the ride height by 30 mm (1.2 inches) compared to stock. An optional package called Weissach adds aggressive body trim bits and a titanium exhaust system.
