Manthey Racing, a long-standing partner of Porsche in all things track-focused, has launched an impressive new wheel set for the latest 911 GT3. It undercuts the OEM magnesium rims price-wise while promising superior durability for tuning applications.
As you may remember, the magnesium alloy wheels for the latest GT3 are available exclusively as a part of the $45,000+ Weissach package, If that feels like an overkill, Manthey’s set comes in at an affordable $12,500 and drops the unsprung weight of the car by 13 lbs per wheel (5.9 kilograms per wheel). A full set of four sums up to 52 lbs, or 23.5 kilograms, of raw weight savings.
You can choose from three available finishes – silver, gold and Neodyme, which looks like a subdued shade of gold with a bronze hue mixed in.
The tuner claims the new rims also withstand 20% higher loads, which implies you can use them with an extensively tuned vehicle and a high-downforce body kit. The diameter is fixed at 20 inches at the front and 21 at the rear. Manthey uses centerlock mount here, but that’s no different from the OEM Porsche 911 GT3. All tire sizes stay the same after the upgrade.
Preorders seem to be open in the UK right now, with other countries in Europe likely to follow soon.
