Following a seemingly never-ending stream of rumors and guesswork, Porsche CEO Oliver Blume has finally confirmed to us that a fully electric variant of its Cayenne SUV is in development. It will go on sale after 2025 and have no relation to the current generation shown in the gallery and the video below.
Porsche reckons that by 2030, EVs will make over 80 percent of its annual sales. Speaking at a recent press conference, Blume also re-stated the plans to raise the profit margins substantially by revising the product range and pricing going forward.
Over the next few years, the German marque intends to steer itself upmarket with even more strictly limited editions of its most iconic vehicles. At the same time, the Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur and Porsche Classic divisions will be considerably expanded.
