A few months ago, Texas-based tuner Hennessey Performance announced an even more powerful version of the already class-leading Ram 1500 TRX pickup. The first completed car just rolled out of the garage for some off-road tests.
Included in the upgrade kit are a 2.65-liter high-performance supercharger, redesigned fuel injectors and a revised induction system, which combine their efforts to drive the stock engine to 1,026 PS (1,012 hp / 755 kW) and 1,313 Nm (968 lb-ft) of torque.
Despite its sheer bulk and less-than-aerodynamic profile, the truck manages to run 0-60 mph (0-97 km/h) in 3.2 seconds and complete a quarter-mile run in 11.4 seconds. Hennessey calls it one of the most powerful pickups in existence, and this is probably not far from truth.
However, as impressive as the Mammoth 1000 is on asphalt, its true calling is off-roading. As you can see in the video, it is an impressively capable machine in many ways.
A total of 200 such conversions will be made and offered starting from $150,000 USD, the donor truck included.
