Hennessey Performance is offering a power upgrade for all Ram 1500 RHO owners who didn’t appreciate the pickup losing two cylinders and 165 horsepower over a facelift. It delivers 710 PS (700 hp / 516 kW), but at a price level that will leave many owners double-taking.
Raising the boost pressure, replacing the exhaust system and tuning the ECU allowed the stock 3.0-liter inline-six engine to rise to the performance level of its predecessor. Hennessey didn’t provide any acceleration figures, but we’d imagine the Mammoth 700 being about as fast as the original, if not faster.
Also included in the package are front and rear bumpers with built-in LED lights, 20-inch alloy wheels shod in 37-inch off-road tires, a skid plate and a 3-inch (76-mm) suspension lift. The running boards now retract automatically for off-road convenience, and the brakes benefit from six-piston calipers.
As appealing at that may sound, the Mammoth 700 package costs $70,000 – about the same as the pickup itself.
