Volkswagen ID.Code heralds automaker’s all-new design language for China

Volkswagen has come to Auto China 2024 with a concept SUV named the ID.Code, designed to demonstrate what the cars of the company’s new automotive sub-brand ID.UX will look like.

The show car is finished in a color known as Horizon Blue. It uses video cameras instead of mirrors and lacks conventional door handles. The interactive lighting at both ends supports various programmable animations.

Once switched to autonomous mode, the steering yoke recesses into the dashboard and the front seats swivel around to face the rear ones. If needed, the seats can be unfolded into an improvised bed. As for the windows, they can be used as projection screens for watching all kinds of multimedia content.

The automaker hasn’t revealed any details regarding the size of the SUV or its powertrain.
