Toyota GR010 debuts with specs and details

After showing us a video of its GR010 hypercar built specifically for the WEC Le Mans Hypercar category, Toyota has followed up with the technical specs and camo-free images.

The vehicle comes to phase out the LMP1-class racer TS050. The displacement volume of its V6 now amounts to 3.5 liters thanks to new regulations, while the predecessor had to make do with 2.4 liters. The power is capped at 680 PS (670 HP / 500 kW), out of which 272 PS (272 hp / 203 kW) comes from a hybrid system installed on the front axle. The previous model was entitled to 1,012 PS (1,000 hp / 745 kW).

The GR010 is 250 mm (around 10 inches) longer than the TS050 and 100 mm (4 inches) taller and wider. At 1,010 kg (2,226 lbs), it also weighs more than the predecessor did at 878 kg (1,935 lbs).

The first race will take place in Sebring, Florida, USA on March 19, 2021.
