Gazoo Racing will be making 35 Supra GR coupes with special exterior and interior styling for Japan, but you won’t be able to buy one with money alone.
Instead, interested customers are invited to submit their applications for the car on August 6-31 and have their fingers crossed when the winners are announced on September 7.
The special edition celebrates Supra’s 35 years on the market, and comes with a cabin trimmed with purple leather and Alcantara. There is also a carbon-fiber ornament on the dashboard and a special plaque in front of the passenger seat.
Trim-wise, every car will come loaded with options that you normally have to pay extra for, such as pedal pads, red brake calipers, matter mirror caps, and 19-inch aluminum wheels with a dark finish.
Customers will be able to choose between a 2.0-liter turbo-four and a 3.0-liter turbo-six for powertrain, the former starting from ¥6,535,000 and the latter from ¥7,835,000. The four-cylinder version will be available in all the usual colors, while the I6 version will be restricted to a grey exterior.
Interestingly, the company had intended to launch another Supra special edition this spring, which was to consist of 27 units painted grey and be available via a lottery draw. That series of cars had been intended to start from ¥7,665,000, but it never came out.
