JDM madness: German tuner boosts the new A90 Supra to 1,000 PS

German tuning company MPS Engineering has presented a rather extreme set of upgrades for the latest-gen Toyota Supra (A90). With some caveats, you can boost the engine output to four-digit numbers.

In its standard form, the Japanese coupe uses a modified BMW B58 inline-six engine with 3.0 liters of displacement and 340 PS (335 hp / 250 kW) at the output end. Upgrading it with the most powerful twin turbos in the MPS catalog raises the power to roughly 700 PS (690 hp / 515 kW) when using ON-102 fuel. Tinkering further with the exhaust system and other components can yield up to 1,000 horsepower (750 kilowatts), but the car will no longer be street-legal.

As an affordable alternative, owners can consider a relatively mild boost to 500 PS (493 hp / 368 kW). The full tuning program also includes the installation of new brakes, a carbon-fiber body kit giving off strong JDM vibes, and ultralight Rays wheels. Pre-ordering is already available, but all prices are disclosed upon request only.
