Volkswagen Golf GTI gets its own starry headliner thanks to Manhart

Ever since Rolls-Royce began imitating star-strewn skies in its ultra-opulent cars, tuners all over the world have been imitating Rolls-Royce – LEDs are cheap, after all.

One such example is this 2021 Volkswagen Golf GTI revealed a couple of days ago by Manhart. The popular tuning company put hundreds of small LEDs onto the ceiling of the sporty hatchback, ending up with something remotely similar to the Rolls-Royce (although admittedly far from it in quality of execution).

To liven things up on the powertrain front, the tuner boosts the two-liter turbo four-pot to 290 PS (286 hp / 213 kW) and 425 Nm (313 lb-ft) of torque. The standard Golf GTI needs slightly more than six seconds for its 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) sprint, and Manhart does not specify how much faster its version is.

Exterior highlights of the build include a large four-fin diffuser in the back and a 19-inch multi-spoke rim set that looks dashing thanks to an H&R lowering kit pushing it deeper into the wheel wells.
