Xiaomi SU7 Mk2 goes on sale

The automotive division of Chinese IT Giant Xiaomi has begun processing orders for the second generation of its all-electric SU7 sedan. Prices currently range from 219,900 to 303,900 Yuan ($31,846–44,040), and the company claims it received more than 15,000 orders in 34 minutes.

Customers are choosing from three main specifications of the EV called Standard, Pro, and Max. The Standard trim gets you a comparatively modest interior alongside 320 PS (316 hp / 235 kW). The Max trim packs lots of premium options and 690 PS (681 hp / 507 kW) total, enough to hit 100 km/h (62 mph) in 3.1 seconds.

The company also mentions numerous chassis improvements, smarter ADAS features and between 720 and 902 km (447–560 miles) of all-electric range depending on your chosen options. As for the visual tweaks, they are few and far between. On the whole, the new SU7 looks more like a mild facelift than a whole new generation, despite being a much more advanced car.

Later this year, Xiaomi plans to unveil an extreme GT version of its YU7 crossover, promising us more than 1,000 PS (986 hp / 735 kW). According to the latest leak, the electric range of the new YU7 will drop to just 650 km (404 miles) or so due to the added power consumption.
